WHATS GOING ON WITH MANCHESTER UNITED?

This work  © 2023  by  Nick Panagiotidis  is licensed under   CC BY 4.0   Manchester United currently sits 10th in the Premier League with 12 points, a rough start having played 8 games, won 4, and lost 4. This is Manchester United's worst start to a Premier League season since the 2019/20 season. (The Analyst  Manchester United’s Worst Starts to a Season | The Analyst ). The question we are wondering is what exactly is going on? Who can be to blame? Erik Ten Haag is not having a good start at all in his second season managing United. He has had the worst start possible to this year's Champions League campaign, with 2 losses in 2 games. We here at The Footy Corner can't help but believe Ten Haag is the problem at United, and before people come at us for saying he has hardly had time at the club or he is brilliant, we agree but hear us out. Ten Haag has made a wonderful signing of 20-year-old striker Rasmus Hojlund, but we think the other signings have ...

SAKA INJURY: HOW MUCH TROUBLE ARE ARSENAL IN?

㏄ The Emirates Stadium Arsenal managed a brilliant win over Manchester City this past weekend, a crucial 3 points for the title race as well as Arsenal's first time getting a point over City since the 2017/18 season (ESPN  www.ESPN.com ). They managed this feat without their star boy Bukayo Saka who is set to be out of action for at least a couple weeks.  Arsenal have what could very well be a challenging few games without Saka. Kicking things off with a classic London derby match away against rivals Chelsea, who have struggled for the past year or so but are now seeming to slowly find their rhythm. Arsenal showed grit against City and toughed it out until the 86th minute where Martinelli managed to find the back of the net. I think Arsenal should not have too much trouble beating Chelsea, but I do expect a fight from the blues, so we are going with a tie. Early next couple weeks Arsenal has an upcoming Champions League clash with none other than Sevilla, the same side...

OUR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREDICTIONS

The Champions League season has only just begun, but we here at The Footy Corner are here to share who we believe will lift the trophy at the end of the season. It's that time of year again, the beginning of a new season, and what better way to start than with some Champions League action. This year we have been blessed with a wonderful draw with lots of even-matched groups, we are gonna witness some brilliant games. We will run down a couple teams we think will have a shot at becoming this year's Uefa Champions League Winners.  Bayern Munich is always a contender and looks stronger than ever this year with the addition of Harry Kane. So far he has had no problem fitting into his new squad, scoring 8 goals just before his tenth game for the club. Jamal Musiala the young attacking midfielder has flourished into a starting player for the German side, he and Kane will surely be a deadly duo this year. The team is a top 10 side in Europe, but I do not think they will manage to be...

PRE-MATCH ANALYSIS: ARSENAL VS PSV EINDHOVEN

Arsenal are back in the UEFA Champions League for the first time since the 2016/17 season and looking to have the perfect start against rising club PSV, how will this match fare out? Yes, it is finally that time of year again, the return of the Uefa Champions League, club football's most prestigious tournament returns and this is setting up to be a very interesting year. Today we will be focusing on the upcoming group B action between Arsenal and Psv which takes place Sept 19 at 3:00PM Eastern.  Arsenal is looking to go far in this year's tournament, after a brilliant year last year, regardless of their slip-up in the Premier League last year that saw them go from what we thought was for sure champions to a cheeky second-place finish, regardless gets them into this year's's Champions League, a step in the right direction for this club.  Arsenal made a couple decent transfers this year which include the likes of Declan Rice from West Ham, Jurrien Timber from Ajax, Davi...
